Do you have any questions?
The answers are here

We have designed an exclusive necklace especially for girls celebrating their Bat Mitzvahs. This one-of-a-kind gift is a beautiful, silver-plated medallion in the shape of an ancient picture of the Western Wall. This is indeed a unique and meaningful memento of this special occasion.

The necklace can be purchased whether or not a ceremony is held at the Western Wall, by ordering it in advance at telephone *5958.

In order to maintain an intimate and special character to these ceremonies, we recommend limiting the total number of guests to 35 people.

It should be taken into consideration that the area of the Old City in general, and the Western Wall in particular, has many steps and uneven sidewalks. We will make every effort to use as few stairs as possible but be aware that this is often unavoidable. It is advised that you have someone available to assist your grandmother in these more difficult areas.

There are two places where you can offer your guest  refreshments:

  1. The balcony of the Western Wall Heritage House – accessible.
    2. Strauss House roof – not accessible.

I am interested in holding my daughter’s Bat Mitzvah celebration at the Western Wall. What do you have to offer?

The Western Wall Heritage Foundation invites any Bat Mitzvah girl to celebrate her special day at an event at the Western Wall together with her family and friends. We offer two types of ceremonies:

A 30-minute ceremony, which includes meeting with a Bat Mitzvah ‘guide.’ This event takes place at the Western Wall Plaza and in the women’s prayer section of the Western Wall. It is offered free of charge.

A one hour ceremony, which is held in one of the halls in the area of the Western Wall. This event includes candle-lighting and a special workshop where glass candlesticks are decorated. During the ceremony the Bat Mitzvah girl is given a necklace with a unique medallion and recites the “She’he’cheyanu” blessing. There is a fee for this ceremony – please contact us for further information.
At the conclusion of both types of ceremonies, the Bat Mitzvah girl receives a beautiful certificate commemorating the event.

The short, 30-minute ceremony takes place outside on the Western Wall Plaza and in the women’s prayer section. In the event of rain, we will hold the ceremony in the women’s section under Wilson’s Arch located in the Western Wall Tunnels. The expanded, one hour ceremony in any case is held inside in one of the Western Wall Tunnels’ halls and therefore can take place in any weather.

The ceremony can be held  on either Sunday, Tuesday or Wednesday from 8:00-16:00.
On Monday and Thursday from 13:00-16:00.
on Friday from 8:00-11:30.
