The Gateway to Heaven

New! The Gateway to Heaven Visitors Center

What is the secret of the Western Wall?

Why did the Paratroopers weep at the Western Wall?

What draws men and women from all corners of the globe to cling to these ancient stones?

The Western Wall Heritage Foundation invites you to discover the secrets of the Western Wall through an innovative and exhilarating audio-visual presentation that tells the story of this place that resides in the heart of us all.

The presentation is located at the entrance level of the Western Wall Heritage Center – facing the Western Wall.

During the presentation, a unique simulation technology is used in an emotional and almost “realistic” manner to introduce the audience to the story of the Temples (First and Second) and to the profound significance of the Western Wall for the Jewish people as a place of prayer and gratitude.

The presentation creates a “dialogue” between the screens surrounding the space and the projected simulation at its center, providing visitors with a profound and emotional enveloping experience.

At the end of the presentation, an exciting surprise awaits.

Duration of the screening is about 8 minutes.

The presentation is suitable for all ages. For young children – it is advisable to prepare them in advance as the presentation is screened in a dark environment.

A look into the past

The Second Temple was the holy pilgrimage site of the Jewish people. It was also the cultural and spiritual center of the nation, having been spoken about reverently by the sages and by pilgrims from all over the world. The Temple was destroyed almost 2,000 years ago and since then has remained in ruins.
