Light in the Heart “Light in the Heart”: An Extended Family Ceremony that Includes Making Candlesticks and a Special Dedication to Holocaust Survivors The Western Wall Heritage Foundation offers celebrants a special Bat Mitzvah program centered on light and giving, to add onto the family’s Western Wall event."The Light in the Heart" program welcomes the family members and guests of the Bat Mitzvah girl, as they gather in one of the beautiful halls in the Western Wall Tunnels for a private and special ceremony. Among other activities, the Bat Mitzvah girl lights candles in antique candlesticks and also creates unique, decorated glass candleholders. She will dedicate a candleholder to a Holocaust survivor which will be presented at a moving Bat Mitzvah ceremony for Holocaust survivors celebrating years later. This event creates a palpable and immediate connection to the Jewish people’s chain of generations in general, and specifically to the generation of Holocaust survivors that is quickly disappearing. We invite you to take part in this meaningful and worthwhile project that combines creativity with charity. The program takes place before the main ceremony held at the Western Wall.Cost of the “Light in the Heart” program: 450 NIS.
