The Menorah depicts the Western Wall adjacent to the Tower of David. It was made by an Israeli soldier at an IDF post, across from the Old City walls during the War of Independence of 1948. The soldier made the candleholders out of copper bullet shells that "took part" in the battle for Jerusalem.  |
