It's been another intense month at the Western Wall with many exciting and emotional moments.  Among them:

• Hundreds of children from north to south came to Jerusalem for a full day tour under the auspices of the Western Wall Heritage Foundation’s "My Jerusalem" program. 

• Classes of children from around Israel came to the Western Wall for special ceremonies celebrating the children's first siddur (prayer book) or chumash (Bible).

• Israeli Ministers Chaim Ramon, Shalom Simchon, and other Israeli dignitaries visited the Wall and took a tour of the Tunnels.

• Outgoing IDF Chief of Staff Major General Moshe (Bugi) Yaalon visited the Western Wall and Tunnels.

• A special Bar and Bat Mitzvah program and celebration took place for underprivileged youth from around Israel, sponsored by the WWHF.

• Memorial Day for Israel’s Fallen was commemorated in a ceremony at the Western Wall Plaza.  Thousands of viewers from around the world were able to participate in the ceremony via our cameras on this site.

• Videoconference broadcasts took place with schools from around the world (Chicago, Buenos Aires, and more), virtually bringing hundreds of kids closer to the Wall in innovative, interactive events.

• 3,500 March of the Living participants marked the end of their journey from Poland’s concentration camps at the Western Wall, proving once again that the Jewish spirit cannot be beaten.
• The France-Israel Friendship Parliamentary Group visited the Kotel and took a tour of the Tunnels.

• Swearing in ceremonies for paratrooper recruits, Givati, and anti-aircraft units took place, watched by viewers around the world via the live video streaming on this site.

• The First Lady of the United States, Mrs. Laura Bush, visited the Western Wall and took a short tour of the Tunnels, with an explanation of the importance of Jerusalem to Jews and to the State of Israel.

• Mr. Arnon Milchan, Hollywood producer, businessman and philanthropist, and Mr. Peter Chernin, COO of Newscorp and President of Fox Entertainment, visited the Wall and participated in a tour of the Western Wall Tunnels.

• A delegation from India's National Security College visited the Western Wall Tunnels.

• President Alejandro Toledo of Peru visited the Western Wall and Tunnels accompanied by Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin.

• The foreign minister of Brazil visited the Western Wall and Tunnels.
